makes incredible collage animations on 16mm film. she also sings, shouts, raps & makes other noises with her face. if the weather agrees with us, she will be here in person, showing film prints. if it doesn't, we'll watch some selections on the video-dohickey. let's cross our fingers for clear weather, cos she's a swell person!

I seen dis wiz kidz wear some Rubber Leather and belt out The Dream tunes while driving down 1-91. Sort of what his music sounds like if you whirr it up and boggle all of that insanity into 4 tracks of magnetic tape...should be cool.

LOOT VIII

Join us at 8 pm, Sunday December 4th.(tomorrow nite)... for the eighth installment of LOOT, a monthly performance series curated by elaine kahn and bill nace featuring one writer and one musician in an evening of aural delight.

Flying Object 42 West Street Hadley MA

Performances begin at 8 pm SHARP
$5 entrance fee, all money goes to artists.


David Watson is an internationally respected guitarist and improviser whose more recent work uses the highland bagpipes. His work on the pipes subverts any conventional expectation, drawing on traditional sources, electronica & experimental improv. Watson regularly works across several genres & has performed & recorded with John Zorn, Lee Ranaldo, Eugene Chadbourne, Christian Marclay & Ikue Mori, among others. Watson’s collaborations with visual artists, dancers & choreographers have been presented in venues such as the Guggenheim Museum (Matthew Barney), the Whitney Museum (Abigale Child), the American Dance Festival in Tokyo (Jeremy Nelson), & more. Recent releases includes the album Throats on Ecstatic Peace! & Fingering an Idea, on XI records.

Stacy Szymaszek is a poet and the author of the books Emptied of All Ships (Litmus Press, 2005) and Hyperglossia (Litmus Press, 2009), as well as numerous chapbooks of poetry, including Orizaba: A Voyage with Hart Crane (Faux Press, 2008), Stacy S.: Autoportraits (OMG, 2008), from Hyperglossia (Belladonna Books, 2005), and Mutual Aid (g o n g press, 2004). From 1999 to 2005, she worked at Woodland Pattern Book Center in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood. Szymaszek and Drew Kunz edited the literary journal Traverse from 1999 to 2004. In 2005 she moved to New York City where she is the current Artistic Director of the Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church.
