Angels In America, Steve Hauschildt (Emeralds), Driphouse, Earn, Mirror to Mirror

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 15TH AT 8:30 IN THE HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE RED BARN

Well well whuhhh, look whu dat BIG KAT DRAGGED IN ME

I always thought it a bit strange grimace never ate dem chicken nuggets....but I guess there's only one way to find out

HAVE A FUCKING SHOW AT HAMPSHIRE MF KOLLEGE FOR KOOKS

w////////

Angels in America
True tourists in the house of DIARRHEA sound. They will hamburgler your BIGGEST MAC away. Thurston Moore said they were a curiosity, one he'd like to scratch. EHSE RECORDS stu said he wanted to eat their stu, and I say they're a fucking great band......ohh and that Thurston shit is tru dingusfux.

"definitely one of those out of nowhere experiences where you encounter something with no reference or connection to any of the noise, punk, no wave, junk, skuzz musix you’ve been soaking in and it completely grips yr mind and purrs against yr sweet spot. Weird, sultry, damaged and almost always falling apart with lyrics spun from some poet head zone, Angels In America are a goddamned curiosity."

Stevie Ray Hauschildt
A d00d only recently met with harrowing ideas of fountain sodaz along side Ronald McDonald's trusty hound SUNDAE. But how do you make a mundae?? with a shit load of vintage synthesizers, ya douche bag. Stever rocks it in Emeralds laying down the synth vibe and generally conquering minds at over seas lap dog fests sponsered by his high honor Mayor McCheese. Hauschildt just put out an amazing solo debut --of sorts-- of Kranky records one of America's finest electronic music outlets --that's right better than radio shak. Hauschildt's music is a deep valley of synthetic rays blasting against each other seamlessly and forming new sounds amongst all the racket. Ebbing and flowing, blasting and breathing, the compositions are tight and the jeans are tighter.....oh and pitchfork thinks he rocks more than CosMc.

DRIPHOUSE,
Then their is the scrumptious DRIPHOUSE. Member of the IOWA blast quartet RACOO-oo-OON. On his own the main mac DRIPHOUSE gets his candles blasting on some EURO-CONTEMP-ElECTRO zone, nice abrev. This Vice President of Snacking, Iam Hungry, rolls a wide range of synthesizers and dials em all in to make something a little more oblique, yet rigid, than the average sinth slinger. He got some shit out on that Spectrum Spool label, fuck with him

Earn
LOS ANGELES free droner with the chaps to match. this Birdie The Early Bird goes all out on guitar carving vast walls of plated placid drones that volley and serve each other to form some new chemical sounds. A great player

Mirror To Mirror
From dat blurred mind that saw you through some of the most thorough research into Fry Kids and Officer Big Mac comes Mirror to Mirror. Drone music for the pilgrims and Tone Music for the rest of us. The BLISSED OUT side of a synth purveyor climbing rocks and canyons to get you in the zone.

At the Montague Bookmill

Wednesday November 9th - 8pm FREE

with: R.M.O’Brien, Ben Hersey, Tumble Cat Poof Poofy Poof

R.M. O'Brien lives in Baltimore with his wife and son. He subsists solely on Mountain Dew, a multivitamin, and fruits from the Tree of Life. When he wakes up, his face is radiant with the light of the True Guru.

Benjamin Hersey is a writer and performance artist from Northampton, Massachusetts. He recently collaborated with Seth Lepore in Get a Job/Take Me Home Tonight and Dance and Text: A Lethal Combination. He attempts to commune with the godhead via personal stories/monologues, portraits of loved ones, his New England ancestry/past lives, bright light, cake, flesh, rotting vegetables, sexy noises, and R&B.

Western Mass resident Joshua Vrysen tries to mix up your journey with sounds from music tapes played through multiple boomboxes. sometimes makes a mess. sometimes sings some songs. usually tries to create a collective memory.

David Shermania

Monday, November 7 · 7:30pm - 10:30pm

Hampshire College Leibling Center

Wasteland Utopias w/ David Sherman in person

Wasteland Utopias is a cinematic essay featuring visionary developer Del Webb (Sun City) and legendary radical psychiatrist/naturalist Wilhelm Reich (Orgone Energy). What on earth could these two possibly have in common? The sunny Sonoran Desert for one thing, a shadowy CIA Operative for another. Desert landscapes, desert soulscapes, sex, sustainability, Emotional Plague, cloudbusting, water retention, cosmic intervention—these and other relevancies link the 1950s with our present moment in surprising, and seemingly prophetic, ways.

Tuesday, November 8, 7-9PM on Smith College campus, Seelye Hall, Room 101.

Microcinemas (i.e. small cinemas) have a  creative egalitarian history that extends back to Surrealist salons in 1920's Paris; David Sherman co-founder of San Francisco's Total Mobile Home, the worlds' first microcinema, presents a unique cinema event that ardently explores a history of artist made films presented in reclaimed spaces. The essence of Microcinema as it has developed since the early 90's is a DIY movement that uses the experience of projected film & video to create participatory community, dialogue and aesthetic investigation.  This show presents media works spanning over 60 years, including  films by the artists Emily Richardson, Vanessa Renwick, David Sherman, Wayne Theibaud, Helen Hill, Kerry Laitala, George Kuchar, and more. The works in this program embody visionary personal filmmaking (many of the films are handmade and made with very modest means) and this event will conjure an inspiring  and insightful tour of the outer possibilities of cinema.

You need a clone. Also, fuck the Elevens.

OK, so, two great shows tonight, one at Flywheel & one, which was supposed to be at the ever dank & vile Elevens, has been relocated at the last minute to the wonderful Flying Object in Hadley.

Here are the deets:

At Flying Object:

9pm
Fossils
Matt Krefting
Bromp Treb

At Flywheel:

7:30pm 8$
Glenn Jones
Crystalline Roses
Trevor Healy

Anyway, don't think we'll be posting any more listings for stuff at the Elevens, telling people about shows that'll get cancelled at the last minute at the whim of cretins is a waste of good people's time.  If you were thinking about trying to do an event there, might we suggest you'd be wiser to think again.  Cheers.
